UPCOMING EVENTS
The Finnish Premiere of my new 20 min orchestra piece Wasteland co-commissioned and performed by Tampere Philharmonic conducted by Olari Elts is radio broadcast live and available on demand until the 12th of May 2024.
The concert also includes music by Kalevi Aho, a world premiere by Eetu Lehtonen and a Finnish premiere by Unsuk Chin in addition to yours truly. The concert is part of the contemporary music festival Tampere Biennale 2024.

Three movements from the solo accordion suite Shapes will be performed by Sonja Vertainen in Hannover. She will perform the movements I. “The Rhomb”, III. “Circles and Ellipses” and V. “Dots” at a concert organised by the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Hannover University of Music, Theatre and Media). My second string quartet Letters will be performed by the Berlin based Elaia Quartet at Stralsund, at the Northeastern coast of Germany. The concert also includes Leoš Janáček’s second string quartet Intimate Letters, the work that has inspired me to compose Letters.
My piece Piano Delirium from 2009 will be performed by Reetamaria Rajala at her solo recital at the church of Ljungby. More info here.

The Lauttasaari Music Festival takes place 13th to 16th of June and I’m honoured to be included in the 7th concert called “Meetings Between Authors and Composers“ where author Minna Lindgren and I will be discussing our work, and the renominated Uusi Helsinki Quartet will play my first string quartet Via Crucis at the Helsinki Main Library Oodi. My duo Celestial Beings will be performed by violinist violinist Otto Antikainen and violist Ulla Knuuttila at the Toivakka Chamber Music Festival (Toivakan kamarimusiikkifestivaali). The concert includes music by Claude Debussy, Lotta Wennäkoski and Jean-Philippe Rameau in addition to yours truly. More can be found info here.
My duo Celestial Beings will be performed by violinist Pippa Sieppala and violist Hanna Hohti at the Sysmä Summer Sounds in a concert called “Birds and Beings”. Mezzo soprano Fanny Henn and pianist Kristian Attila will perform the song Du store Eros from my new song cycle Framtidens skugga composed to poems by Edith Södergran as part of Fanny Henn’s master recital. More info here. Free admission!

The first prize winner Antons Pizāns (Lithuania) will perform the movements I. “The Rhomb”, III. “Circles and Ellipses” and V. “Dots” in the final gala concert, due to winning the first prize in the classical junior category.

Thrilled that Akademiska sångföreningen (The Academic Male Voice Choir of Helsinki) led by Elisa Huovinen will sing the Canadian Premiere of my piece Sailing to Windward (composed to a text by Michael Binnie) at the St. Andrews-Wesley United Church in Vancouver! Ylioppilaskunnan laulajat (The YL Male Choir) conducted by Pasi Hyökki commissioned the piece The Holocene Extinction that now gets it’s second performance in the choir’s spring concert at Kallio Church. The Facebook event can be found here and tickets here.

My song cycle Tidens ordning to lyrics by Oscar Rossi will be performed by Nicholas Söderlund and Pasi Helin at the Sibelius Museum in Turku.
