UPCOMING EVENTS
My new violin concerto Earth Songs will be performed by Linda Suolahti and TampereRaw, conducted by Maria Itkonen. The concert will take place in the House of Nobility as a part of the Musica nova Helsinki Festival. The concert will include music by my colleagues Ilkka Hammo, Tomi Räisänen and a premiere by Roope Mäenpää. More information and tickets can be found here.
My orchestral piece ICE will get it’s United Kingdom Premiere by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Emilia Hoving at the BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff, the United Kingdom. The concert also includes the piano concerto by the British composer Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade and the first symphony of Grace Williams, believed to be the first symphony ever written by a Welsh composer. My orchestral piece ICE will get it’s Portuguese Premiere by the Gulbenkian Orchestra conducted by José Eduardo Gomes at the World New Music Days in Portugal. The concert will also include music by my colleagues Hawar Tawfiq, Murielle Lemay and Vasco Mendonça. More information can be found here.

Mezzo soprano Olivia Kyllönen and pianist Kirill Kozlovski will perform the song Framtidens skugga, which is the first song from my song cycle Framtidens skugga composed to poems by Edith Södergran, as part of Olivia Kyllönen’s semifinal round at The Lappeenranta National Singing Competition (Lappeenrannan valtakunnalliset laulukilpailut). Accordionist Sonja Vertainen will perform from my whole solo accordion suite Shapes at her recital in Hannover. She will perform at the hall E50 in “Neues Haus 1” at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Hannover University of Music, Theatre and Media). She will also be performing works by César Franck, Erkki Jokinen, Matthew Shlomowitz and Tom Bañados. More info here.
Guitarist Marisa Minder will play the Swiss Premiere of my piece Under Stjärnhimlen at the concert series Feeling blue & white in Basel. There will also be music by my colleagues Sauli Zinovjev, Lotta Wennäkoski, Leonid Bashmakov, Tobias Krebs and Einojuhani Rautavaara. Find more info here.
Pianist Reetamaria Rajala will be playing the UK Premiere of my piano solo pieces Piano Delirium and Unda at her debute at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, London. The concert also includes music by my colleagues Saara Lindahl and Lara Poe. The event is free! Find more info here.
My solo cello work Aveo will be performed by Sirja Nironen at Kamppi Chapel in Helsinki City Centre. Nironen will improvise and will also be playing music by my colleagues Linjama, Moilanen, Tenkanen and Valkonen. More info can be found here. Free admission!
Very happy that my new 11 min orchestral piece Information will get its world premiere by the Tampere Philharmonic conducted by their chief conductor Matthew Halls in the Great Hall of the Tampere Hall. More information and tickets can be found here.

My solo accordion piece Renewables Op.83 will get its Lithuanian Premiere by Sini Ström at her recital at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater in Vilna, Lithuania. The concert is part of the Akoreono Festivalis in Vilnius. The program also includes music by my colleagues Olli Virtaperko, Matthew Whittall, Sampo Haapamäki, Sauli Zinovjev and Joonas Kokkonen. An excerpt from my Requiem for our Earth will be performed by Akademiska Damkören Lyran conducted by Riku Laurikka on Finnish National TV. It will be part of the Svenska Dagen Celebration (Finnish Swedish Heritage Day Celebration) at Konstfabriken in Porvoo. The whole show can be watched online here for one month.
