My solo cello work Aveo will be performed by Sirja Nironen at Kangasala Church on the Finnish Day of Music. Nironen and Kirill Kozlovski will play a variable repertoire together. The Austrian premiere of Groove will be performed by flutist Prof. Johanna Dömötör and accordionist Prof. Heidi Luosujärvi at Jubiläumskonzert 15 Jahre Forum Kammermusik. The concert will take place in Großer Saal, Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria. More info can be found here.
flutist Marianna Schürmann and accordionist Neža Torkar from the ensemble via nova will play my Groove at the concert Hebstfrequenzen 2023 at the Landesmusikakademie Sondershausen in Germany. Tickets 12€/8€. More info can be found here and the Facebook event can be found here.
Linda Suolahti‘s debut album “Unrecorded.” will be released 23rd of November 2023! It includes unrecorded music by Finnish composers Helvi Leiviskä, Ann-Elise Hannikainen and me. Leiviskä and Hannikainen were recorded by Linda and pianist Tiina Karakorpi. Linda and Mari Viluksela have together recorded my piece Celestial Beings. The record can be purchased through Linda’s website here.
The album will be released on streaming platforms next year 2024.
The last movement Jag vill from my suite Dagbok will be performed by Indigo Laurén and Emma Ylitalo at Helsinki Conservatory.
My second string quartet Letters will be performed by the Berlin based Elaia Quartet in Schwäbish Hall, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The concert also includes Leoš Janáček’s second string quartet Intimate Letters, the work that has inspired me to compose Letters. More information (in German) to the concert can be found here.
Three movements from the solo accordion suite Shapes will get their Czech Republic Premiere at the International Accordion days in Prague. The competitor Bela Brichzin (Germany) will perform the movements I. “The Rhomb”, III. “Circles and Ellipses” and V. “Dots” in age category VI.
Tuomas Turriago will perform my piece Epitaph at his recital at Hannikainen Hall in Jyväskylä. On the program is also music by Gubaidulina and Turriago himsel.
