The male choir Mieskuoro Laulajat conducted by Paavo Hyökki will in their Independency Day concert in the great hall of Tampere-talo perform Sailing to Windward composed to a poem by Michael Binnie.

Minna – Helsinki Music Centre

My first Piano Quintet Minna will be performed by TampereRaw in Helsinki in Helsinki Music Centre. Kaarina Hazard will lead us through the concert with texts about the life of Minna Canth. Link to tickets for 21/14,50/8€. The Facebook event can be found here.

A panel discussion (in Finnish) about equality in music will take place before the concert in the Lower Foyer at 2 PM. Invited guests are journalist Wilhelm Kvist, composer Minna Leinonen, violinist Eriikka Maalismaa, Tampere Philharmonic’s general manager Juha Ahonen and yours truly. Requiem for our Earth – World Premiere

Djurens Planet – School opera

The school opera Djurens planet, commissioned by the Finnish National Opera and composed by Cecilia Damström to the libretto by Monica Vikström-Jokela, got it’s world premiere in March 2019 and is touring autumn 2019 around Finland.

Minna – Helsinki Premiere

It will be performed by Tiina Karakorpi piano, Linda Suolahti and Anna Husgafvel on violin, Riitta-Liisa Ristiluoma on viola and Markus Hohti on cello.
