The Finnish premiere of Tundo! will be played by Kuopio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jaakko Kuusisto.

The male choir Mieskuoro Laulajat conducted by Paavo Hyökki will in their Independency Day concert in the great hall of Tampere-talo perform Sailing to Windward composed to a poem by Michael Binnie.

My first Piano Quintet Minna will be performed by TampereRaw in Helsinki in Helsinki Music Centre. Kaarina Hazard will lead us through the concert with texts about the life of Minna Canth. Link to tickets for 21/14,50/8€. The Facebook event can be found here.

A panel discussion (in Finnish) about equality in music will take place before the concert in the Lower Foyer at 2 PM. Invited guests are journalist Wilhelm Kvist, composer Minna Leinonen, violinist Eriikka Maalismaa, Tampere Philharmonic’s general manager Juha Ahonen and yours truly. Accordionist Matti Pulkki will give a recital including the USA premiere of my solo accordion piece Shapes at the Scandinavian House in New York

A new 30 minute work about global warming commissioned and premiered by Akademiska Damkören Lyran conducted by Jutta Seppinen will get it’s world premiere at Sellosali in Espoo, Finland.

The school opera Djurens planet, commissioned by the Finnish National Opera and composed by Cecilia Damström to the libretto by Monica Vikström-Jokela, got it’s world premiere in March 2019 and is touring autumn 2019 around Finland.

My first Piano Quintet Minna will be performed for the first time in Helsinki in the wonderful Temppeliaukio Church. It will be performed by Tiina Karakorpi piano, Linda Suolahti and Anna Husgafvel on violin, Riitta-Liisa Ristiluoma on viola and Markus Hohti on cello.
